In this season of creation, we think of St Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals and the environment, who considered the animals and world around him like brothers and sisters. On St Francis’ day, 6th October at 12, following the Sunday service, there is a blessing of pets to remember him. So even if you are not a regular church-goer, bring along your own animal companions, and have a special prayer said for their well-being.
